This week PGE Park in Portland, Oregon is hosting the Minor League All Star Game and other festivities. These events were kicked off today with Fan Fest. From 11:00-5:00 fans could enter the park for $5 and enjoy inflatable rides, tours of the stadium, and a roundtable of old timer Portland players. Because Uncle Mark is a season ticket holder, we had two free tickets and kids got in for free. Once we got in, we started with a quick look around and the girls played on the inflatable rides. We made it in for the 12:00 tour of the park. Highlights included seeing the clubhouse and the view from a suite.

One of the Suites is named after Paige's namesake, Satchel Paige. We continued to wander around after enjoying burgers and dogs for lunch. The girls got airbrush tattoos and balloon animals. The afternoon ended with a roundtable discussion with the oldtimers, which include Mr. Red Sox himself Johnny Pesky. By the time I realized it was time to get in line for an autograph, it had wrapped itself halfway around the field. Decided to skip it and tried to get a close up picture instead. I guess that will have to do.

The afternoon was filled with more baseball, complete with wins for both the sox and the mets. I snuck away by myself for a movie. I had been wanting to see "The Hangover" and was glad I finally saw it. HILARIOUS. I was rolling along with the rest of the theatre. I'm going to have to see it again when I get back to town...who's in with me?
