The swim park opens at 12:00 and we were there by 12:15. We found a prime location near the edge of the water. This would guarantee the most sun time. I had originally thought that it would be chilly and that we would all end up going home early but it wasn't long until the girls were in the water joined by their cousin. All three of us enjoyed several dips in the water. It was probably the most time each one of us has spent in their. I owe a big thanks to whoever invented Noodles. They add some more excitement to swimming at the lake. The girls think it is fun to blow the water out of one end of the noodle, usually directed at me. Don't worry...I always seek revenge and I think that the girls like that too.
After some words of encouragement from Gwynn and Paige, I even took a risk by jumping off the diving board. The water over in that area seems so much clearer than the rest of the lake. Maybe in future years, when I visit the girls, I will have one of them join me in the deep end.
After dinner, I uploaded some pictures for 1 hour photo and Auntie Mar and I headed out for a couple errands. We began searching for a dollar store so that we could get supplies to use as decorations for the girls' scooters that they would ride in the 4th of July parade. Auntie Mar had come up with this idea to slit a noodle and wrap it around the handle bar of the scooter. When we found a store we searched for anything we thought we could use. We left with two noodles, streamers in red, white & blue, towels, flowers in red, white, & blue, and a two decorate table weights.
We picked up the pictures and came home to start on the scooters. I thought that it would be neat to cut the noodles into smaller pieces so that we could alternate on the scooter. If only we had white too; then it would have been perfect. We took the decorate table piece and took away the weight and stuck the rest in the front of the scooter. After buying all those pieces, we only really used two items. The scooters came out cute. I hope the girls like them.
