In celebration of the 4th of July, the family walked in the Lake Oswego parade. The girls were surprised when they saw how their scooters had been decorated. We added a helium flag balloon to the handlebars and the girls were ready to ride. We all dressed in our red, white, and blue finest. When we arrived at the start of the parade, we made our way to the front and started posing for some pictures.

We walked down Country Club Road toward Millennium Plaza. Along the way we ran into several of Gwynn's friends from school and one of Paige's classmates at Touchstone. It almost felt as if we were famous in some way, walking in the parade. Basically, anyone can be a part of this parade in Lake O. I think there were more of us walking than there were people sitting on the sidelines watching.

At the end of the parade there was a Bar-B-Que for the town. When we heard "Bar-B-Que" we were imagining chicken and ribs and such. Uncle Mark was slightly disappointed when all he found was hamburgers and hot dogs. Oh well, it was the company that mattered not the food. The girls enjoyed a treat of cotton candy.

While Uncle Mark made the trek back to the car at the top of the hill, Auntie Mar, the girls, and I walked to a nearby Starbucks for our own treat. Auntie Mar got her new usual, a one sweet-n-low latte while I enjoyed my sugar free Cinnamon Dulce latte. Usually I go for iced by today was surprisingly chilly so I looked forward to the heat.
We got home and I headed to my bedroom for a nap while the girls and Uncle Mark went for a bike ride to the park. Auntie Mar ran to the store for some grilled chicken supplies. On tap for this evening is sparklers at a friend's house.
Happy 4th everyone...Love ya!!!
